A Florida rancher has devised a Gooseneck Trailer Hitching Guide that allows easy hookup even when he can't see the hitch ball in the bed of his pickup truck. The Guide is a 2-foot-long, 1/4-inch rod (with a spring in the center), which is fastened in a hole drilled through the truck bed hitch plate just ahead of the ball. He simply backs the truck up until the trailer touches the rod then lowers the hitch onto the ballon the first try.
