Homemade Loader Firewood Basket
Tractor front-loader with a Homemade Loader Firewood Basket mounted to it

With his Homemade Loader Firewood Basket, Dave Fisher of Syracuse, NY, can transport about 2,500 pounds of ready-to-sell wood from the splitter to the storage area via tractor or skid steer with minimum handling required. He made the basket from an old round-bale hay ring plus hog wire-fence panel, which allows debris to be filtered out, leaving just clean firewood. The construction steps included: (1) cutting up then welding the hay-ring square tubing for the frame, (2) welding the frame to a quick-attach plate, (3) spot-welding the wire-fence panel to the frame, and (4) adding a taller backstop panel to make it easier to fully loading the bucket.
