Speech-to-Text Captioning Glasses
A pair of captioning glasses showing the conversation of a group of people at a table.

Speech-to-Text Captioning Glasses utilize real-time transcription and artificial intelligence to assist the hearing impaired in their everyday communication, The glasses have tiny microphones that pick up speech, transcribe, then project semi-transparent captions onto a portion of the lenses. This allows him/her to converse in a more natural manner, no longer having to rely on body language and/or lip-reading as conversations aids. In addition to their being lightweight, these glasses can reportedly be programmed to adapt to varying accents, speaking speeds, and intonations as well as accommodate a growing list of languages. Some models have subscription-based services that provide for extended periods of transcription, saved conversation histories, and added translations.

Estimated Cost Cost range: Glasses-$3,000-$5,000
