Trellis Netting System for Vining Plants
A trellis netting system attached to metal fence posts in a vine crop row

Used in greenhouses or fields, a Trellis Netting System for Vining Plants (such as beans, tomatoes, peas, cucumbers) can allow people with limited mobility (including wheelchair users) to tend plants as they grow and then to harvest what they produce with reduced need to bend down, kneel, squat, or reach up. With a vertical trellis system, the netting is stretched between posts perpendicular to each row; with horizontal trellising, the netting is canopied over the row or rows. The vines grow up or through the netting being attached to it by clips; this keeps them from falling over and blocking between-row walkways. Trellis-netting can also improve plant health because the netting permits maximum light and airflow, both of which reduce the chance of mold and fungus diseases.

Estimated Cost Cost range: $40 - $370 depending on width and length
