Ratcheting PVC-Pipe Cutter
Cost range: $20-$70, depending primarily on jaw capacity
Limitations Addressed by Product: Strength/endurance, Upper extremity
A Ratcheting PCV-Pipe Cutter reportedly requires some 40% less force to cut through PVC (as well as CPVC, PP, PEX, PE) piping than does a non-ratcheting cutter. The tool's ergonomic handles is designed to make it comfortable to use; its hooked jaw is designed to hold the pipe in proper position to ensure a straight, burr-less cut; and its pierce-point-shaped blade is designed to accurately pierce without crushing or cracking the pipe. (Models differ according to pipe diameter maximum: 11/4- up to 31/2-inch.)
