The SackGarden Mobile Gardening Bed is designed to allow one to grow food or flowers just about anywhere (e.g., rooftop, patio, garage, shed, even on a fence)-as long as there's a reasonable amount of light. The reusable (up to 5 years) soil sacks are reportedly stretchable, sturdy, permeable, and come with handles for easy moving. To plant a SackGarden, (1) zip-tie off one end of a sack, (2) fill with potting soil, (3) zip-tie off the other end, (4) cut small holes in the sack where the plants are to grow, then (5) sow seed in the cut-out areas and water. Use the handles provided to move the sacks. Two kits are available, each with three 3-foot-long sacks: one has 8-inch- diameter sacks (for herbs, greens, and smaller flowers); the other has 12-inch-diameter sacks (for larger vegetables and flowers). Both kits include the handles, zip ties, drainage pipes with elbow fittings, clear plastic sheet, black plastic weed barrier sheet, and instructions.
