Battery-Powered Push-Type Mower
Battery-Powered Push-Type Mower

A Battery-Powered Push-Type Mower can be as much as 50% lighter than its gas-powered counterpart-an important consideration for one with back and/or strength-limiting issues. Its light weight also makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces. The mower's electric motor runs off a lithium-ion battery, which is designed to provide over an hour of mowing on a single charge. (Recharging reportedly takes a little as 30 minutes with the optional rapid-charger.) All models feature push-button starting, instant motor/blade stop with release of the lever, adjustable cutting height, and fold-up handles for space-saving storage; and most offer 3-in-1 mowing options (i.e., mulching, rear collection, and side discharge).

Estimated Cost Cost range: $200-$400, depending on cut size, battery type, etc.
