PowerDeck Loading System for Pickups
Cost range: See below
Limitations Addressed by Product: Upper extremity, Strength/endurance, Back
The PowerDeck Loading System for Pickups, which can lift and load up to 2,500 pounds of material, equipment, etc. onto the bed of a full-size pickup truck, has two components-a hydraulic lift arm and a cargo platform (deck). A two-button hand controller (with 8-foot cord) or optional remote operates the system, moving the deck from bed to ground and back again once loaded. The lift-arm assembly is mounted on the bed floor, with the power/ground cables running to the truck's battery. The deck is 58 inches wide and 61/2 or 8 feet long (depending on model), with a 5-inch-long upward-folding beavertail; it sits just above the wheel well, which allows about 10 inches of storage space underneath. When being used, the system requires removal of the tailgate but not the trailer hitch.
